Find your fun on The Avenue.
Louisville's Frankfort Avenue connects some of the city's most charming and historic neighborhoods including St. Matthews, Clifton and Crescent Hill. The corridor is full of character – a freight train runs alongside The Avenue and dozens of unique and locally owned boutiques, art studios, galleries, and restaurants line the street. The Avenue is a culinary hub, with more than thirty locally owned restaurants boasting al fresco dining, international cuisine, and a variety of unique flavors. Shopping on The Avenue you will find a wide selection of independently owned boutiques and shops offering a variety of items – from vintage and consignment clothing to outdoor gear, imported crafts, antiques, home furnishings, wine, books, coffee and more. The neighborhood is accentuated by libraries, parks, and several unique attractions for families and visitors to explore –the historic Peterson-Dumesnil House, Louisville Water Company Crescent Hill Gatehouse and Reservoir, and American Printing House for the Blind.

Let's go to the Hop!
Explore the Clifton, Crescent Hill, and Butchertown neighborhoods by way of a trolley ride! Launched in 2004, the F.A.T. Friday Trolley Hop has become a signature event on The Avenue. Held on the final Friday of every month beginning in April, this event attracts thousands of people to enjoy free trolley rides to participating shops, restaurants and galleries along the Frankfort, Mellwood, and Story Avenue corridor. Many of the businesses host live music and entertainment, complimentary refreshments and special sales on trolley hop nights.
